Newborn Photography FAQ'S - Newborn Photographer Nottingham

Booking a newborn photographer can be daunting, just like anything you’ve not done before, walking in to the unknown - how do you know what to expect, what to ask for, or even what you should expect from the whole experience?

Funnily enough I’m actually a newborn photographer specialising in natural, minimal, newborn photography, covering the Nottingham and East Midlands area.

I’ve put together newborn photography FAQ’S to help you on your journey to booking a newborn photographer right for your family.

So … Make yourself a cup of tea & get comfortable.

What is the best time to book a session? Any time after your 12 week scan is ideal. As we don’t know when baby will arrive, its best we book your session in advance so I can cater for you as soon as baby has arrived, wether that be early late or on time. By booking early my diary is already expecting you.

How do I book in? Initially contact via email or phone to discuss your due date and receive a copy of the price list and product guide. A booking fee is required at the time of booking to hold your booking, this is paid by bank transfer or card over the phone.

When should I schedule my session? Ideally the first 2/3 weeks of birth, so baby is still curled up and brand new fresh from the womb. This isn’t always possible due to the labour you might have and don’t worry we can still get some great images after this time frame, its just a guide. After the 3/4 week baby is generally a little more aware of their surroundings so may enjoy being awake a little more, in which case we can do more of a lifestyle session, which is great too.

How long is a session? As your most probably sleep deprived and the most important thing is to spend time at home with your new family, I like to keep my sessions under two hours. I usually find an hour and a half is sufficient for me to capture what I need.

How do we view and choose our photographs? Around a week following your session I’ll invite you back to your viewing and ordering appointment in which we will watch a slideshow of your images, view samples of your images on the products and choose or make a package of photographs to suit exactly what you want.

How and when do I pay for the package? Payment for your package is due at the viewing and ordering appointment, and is paid either via card or cash. Price plans are also available on request.

So nows thats the basics covered, I hope your a little wiser on your path to booking a Newborn Photographer.

If your looking for a photography in the East Midlands area, I would love to meet you and your family.
