baby photography information

Its really no surprise professional baby photography is so popular these days.

I mean can you imagine having such detailed photographs of you as a baby?

We just didn’t have the technology back then to capture such infinite details such as tiny eyelashes, hair on the face, toes and fingertips, it really is amazing what we can do now.

I specialise in natural baby photography, so anything from newborn photographs, to 6 months sitting, to crawling, walking & first birthdays.

I really love photographing newborns, but closely followed by a baby aged 6-10 months old.

A baby shoot can often be overshadowed by newborn or 1st birthday photography, and its quite easily overlooked. But I LOVE photographing this age range - especially if you missed out on doing a newborn shoot.

All of the chub, full of all things baby. Maybe sightings of new teeth, new hair, arm & leg rolls for days. Lots of curiosity so lots of playing & having fun. The first real big difference from the newborn stage.

Around this age your baby has probably just discovered their toes, so I love to incorporate these little milestones in to the session, rolling over, playing with hands and sucking their fingers - these really do make for the best shots, you know your baby just being well, your baby.

They're also probably sitting on their own & quite curious. I have a range of handmade wooden toys to keep your little one occupied during the session, don’t get tricked in to thinking baby needs to be smiling and looking at the camera - they really don’t. I much prefer the natural shots, when baby is looking to you to make them laugh over my shoulder or quietly playing with a toy. We’re capturing your babies personality and I believe to do this we should allow them to be themselves and feel comfortable in their surroundings, instead of trying to force poses and smiles.

I really look forward to capturing natural baby photography for your family, its definitely something you won’t regret doing, but would absolutely regret missing out on.
